March “Of the Month”
March 24, 2008
Well, I seem to have forgotten February’s “Of the Month” post, March is nearing its end, and school starts back up again tomorrow, so I will write this month’s post. : )
Books of the Month
This month, my favorite books have been as follows:
Stepping Heavenward by Elisabeth Prentiss – I’ve read it before, but reading it again is so encouraging. This is a book I would recommend to absolutely anyone, although it is more of a girl book. Ms. Prentiss is very good at portraying the feelings of a young person who ahas grown up thinking they were saved in a Christian home with God’s influence all around them and then their feelings when they are actually saved. I am reminded of my own salvation. . . .
The Artemis Fowl series. Oh boy! These books were real treats to read. Eoin Colfer, the author is an amazing author, and he incorporates the perfect amount of suspense, mystery, reality, and fantasy to keep you an the edge of your seat. There are five books in the series and the story gets better with each book. My brother started them, and he has really enjoyed them.
Songs/Music of the Month
This month I have really fallen in love with Caedmon’s Call all over again. Listening to their older CDs, like Back Home and Long Line of Leavers has been great. Three of my favorites are:
Walk With Me Quiet
Mistake of My Life
Emptiest Day
I have also listened to Norah Jones a bit more, and I really like her style.
Movie of the Month
The Princess Bride – I saw this movie for the first time is a long whil and it was great to hear all of the inconceivably funny lines. (“You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. .”)
I think that will wrap up this post.
