Happy Thanksgiving!
November 22, 2007
Oh, gosh, this is going to be hard. I have no idea what to say. . And I know that if I get started on blessings I won’t stop. . . Here:
Happy Thanksgiving to any and all who read this humble blog, and even those who do not! I know I haven’t wrote much lately, so I’ll write a bit about my life.
Well, my brothers and I are on a week-long vacation that started this Monday and is swiftly coming to an end. Mmm. . over this vacation the middle school I attend is having a winter read-a-thon. You have to get a minimum of 800 minutes to participate in the prize/auction at the end. I’m not doing so hot, but no worries here.
I finished a pretty good series called Uglies by Scott Whatshisface on. . . . Tuesday night? It’s got a bit of bad language, mostly just minor words and no biggies, and some sensuality, if that’s the right word. In the series, the when a person turns 16, they undergo this mega plastic surgery that redoes their whole bodies to perfection – no disease, teeth are replaced so that they will never decay, and you can get lots extra stuff like eye color and these interesting tattoos that flare with your heartbeat. . . So anyways the main character ends up sort of breaking the mold. It’s actually pretty cool. I liked it.
And I read this really good book called Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli. I absolutely loved it! It was really sweet and inspiring and it made me conscious of how many people around me could use encouragement or love. That book, I would totally recommend to anyone!
Mmmm. . . I just finished making a gingerbread house with my brothers. For some weird reason, we’ve totally kicked into the Christmas season really early this year. My mom and I made gingerbread and sugar cookies the other day (they’re all gone by now, though), and we got this baby Christmas tree and decorated tiny ornaments and there the tree is, in the kitchen.
Oh! Here’s something interesting! On. . . Tuesday, my mom and I went to Ross and got this really pretty dress for a friend’s youth group-Christmas formal that I got invited to. I’m in love with the dress. It’s black satin with these dollar-sized off-white polka dots all over. About knee-length, it ends with a couple inches of black lace and ties in the front right at the ribs (whatever you call it) in a pretty bow. I <3 it!
Finally, to close this post, I shall say Happy Thanksgiving again!
